Jonathan has a job!
Well...not quite yet, but soon.
He has been working so hard for 14 years, it's nice that he will officially be out of training soon. He signed his first contract as an allergist.
He will be joining
Rocky Mountain Allergy. They are in Layton, but Dr. Jones is expanding his business so Jonathan will be opening the Draper clinic.
We are planning a move to Draper (or surrounding area) at the end of June.
I have such mixed feelings.
I have LOVED Omaha. I actually really wanted to stay. But our opportunities here just kept falling through or had some serious red flags pop up. But I kept holding out for Omaha. I love our friends here, and the community is awesome, as are the schools. We feel so blessed to have had our girls in this school district and we hate to leave it.
But as we kept praying, we kept finding reasons to move Draper.
There is a shortage of allergists in Utah, who knew?? There are more allergists in Omaha then there are in the whole state of Utah. This job opportunity is awesome for Jonathan.
And it will be a great place to raise our girls, and that's what finally won me over.
I really, really want our girls to date and hang out with Mormon boys. (The teenagers here don't seem to do that.) I realize that the temptations they have there will not be the same as it is here, and that's a good thing.
Then there was the fact that we would love our girls to go to a Utah college, and the temples are open all the time, and Seagull Book has missed me. :)
And another good thing is that we have lots of good friends already in Utah. And most of my friends talk a lot about moving to Utah themselves at some point, so I am hopeful that they will join us soon. And so many people visit Utah often, I feel like I will still be connected to the people I care about.
I am nervous about some stuff (i.e. glamour moms-I am so not one!) but I am just trying to stay focused on the positive and be excited for the future. Change is hard for me, and I can get very anxious. So I am trying really hard to stay positive and hopeful for the future.
Draper, here we come!
